The picturesque Lake Hamana, where eel cultivation has been prosperous since the old days, is widely known as Hamanako eels as a brand. In the lake, a lot of fish, crabs and shrimps inhabit in the water, making a fish catch as a lake No.1 in Japan. The area around the lake has many hot springs such as Kanzanji, Bentenjima, Yuto and Mikkabi. Many overseas tourists visit and stay at these spas.
