Driving along the winding highway through beautiful ravines

Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road

About

The nature of Mt. Hakusan National Park can be fully enjoyed by driving through the mountain high way. With the total extension of 33.3km it connects Hakusan city in Ishikawa prefecture with Shirakawa-go in Gifu prefecture from June to November. As the road goes winding through the gorges, the beauty of ‘Eight Scenic Views of Jadani’-a number of valleys and waterfalls appear one after another- will take your breath away. Must to see are; ‘Shiritaka Waterfall’ falling down on threes-level steps, the best scenic spot ‘Fukube Great Waterfall’ and ‘Ubagataki Waterfall’, which is chosen among one hundred waterfalls of Japan and there is an open-air bath in front. Other sights to see are Jadani Enchi or garden and pond Park, Beech Virgin Forest and Mt. Hakusan Observatory. The views from the high way in fresh green and autumn color seasons are brilliant.
