Japanese Confectionery

Confectionery called Kintsuba or Rakugan; good gifts to take home

Japanese Confectionery

About

Traditional confectionery of Kanazawa is popular as good gifts to take home for foreign countries. The confectionery representing Kaga or Kanazawa is available in a small portion such as boxed gifts or assorted packages which can be kept at room temperature. To name a few, there is a Kintsuba or sweet bean jelly wrapped by very thin wheat dough, through which you can see tightly packed big beans. And a Kaga Rakugan, whose classical designs of flowers and leaves or family crests are shaped in a wooden mold, is an elegant rice-flour cake. Likewise, you can find a variety of superb confectionery full of Kaga’s originality, while feeling somewhat Kyoto’s atmosphere.
