Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Money Museum

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Money Museum

This museum exhibits the largest privately-owned collection of domestic and international currencies (some 10,000) in Japan. Visitors can observe such rarities as coins made of stone or ceramics and the renowned large oval-shaped Japanese gold coin called "Oban" (small ones are called "Koban"). An Edo period money changer’s shop has been reproduced and visitors can also see a collection of "ukiyo-e" wood block prints created by famous artist Utagawa Hiroshige along with the works of other artists.
