Rokugogawa Iron Bridge, Museum Meiji Mura
The Rokugogawa Iron Bridge, the first twin-track bridge in Japan, designated as national tangible cultural property, was completed in 1877. The bridge was designed by an English engineer R.V. Boyle who was a foreign specialist employed by the Government and built at the Hamilton’s Windsor Ironworks in Liverpool, Britain and imported from there.
